Espheres TA

ESPHERES TA (Tartaric Acid)

Tartaric Acid (TA) spheres are hard, brittle, free flowing spherical masses prepared principally using Tartaric Acid plus some minor common excipients required for making spheres.

The ingredients used have GRAS status and are compliant with monographs of all the recognized pharmacopoeias.

Important Features of Espheres TA

  • Uniform sphere size
  • Low friability
  • Insoluble in water
  • Uniform and consistent loading
  • Cost effective
  • Availability in various size range

General Physico-chemical Characteristics

Application

These spheres can be used with modified release formulations of specific drug substances having low solubility but showing improved dissolution in acidic micro-environments, promoting consistency and uniformity of release profile thus ensuring a uniform therapeutic response.

Particle Sizes (U.S. Standard Sieve) Available

#20 – #30 and #30 – #40

  • Size considerations - Not less than 90% pass through the coarser sieve size and not more than 10% passes the finer sieve. These sizes are stated on the label.
